Man fined Dhs 500,000/- , jailed for insulting religion




His phone has been confiscated

A 41-year-old Arab man in Ajman was sentenced to seven years imprisonment and faces a fine of Dh500,000 for 'insulting God'. He will face deportation after serving his sentence.


The Criminal Court also ordered his phone to be confiscated, according to Al Bayan. He will also be liable to pay for the cost of the legal proceedings.

The complainant, a woman, revealed to the court that the accused slandered her and insulted God during an altercation between them.

On extracting the voice messages, the authorities found that the accused had willingly insulted the lady with words that amount to blasphemy.
